Getting Started Before you begin... English Thank you for choosing Bose® Companion® 2 multimedia speakers. They are designed to provide high-fidelity sound for your computer or other sound source. Unique features and Bose technologies make these speakers a superior choice for home or office workspaces. Español Getting Started Magnetic shielding protects your monitor from interference, even with the speakers placed directly against your computer.
Setting Up Where to put your Companion® 2 speakers Setting Up English Bose designed these speakers to sit on your desk, where their angled shape directs sound toward the listener. The powered speaker, which has a volume control on the front, is labeled RIGHT SPEAKER on the rear panel. The accessory speaker, labeled LEFT SPEAKER on the rear panel, has the speaker cable connected to it.
Setting Up The speaker cable is already attached to the accessory speaker. Insert the connector of that cable into the jack marked TO LEFT SPEAKER on the rear of the powered speaker (Figure 3).
Setting Up Be sure to match the colors on the connectors to the colors on the jacks, red to red and white to white. 2. Connect the other end to the AUDIO OUTPUT jack on your computer. We recommend using LINE OUT if your computer sound card offers more than one option. 3. To connect a second source, repeat steps 1 and 2 using the second set of AUDIO INPUT jack (B) on the rear panel of the powered speaker.
Using Your Companion® 2 Speakers ® How to use the volume control Using Your Companion English Your computer may have an external volume control as well as on-screen controls for the volume. Decide which controls you prefer to use to adjust the volume while you listen. Then follow the instructions that apply to your choice. To use the speaker volume control On your sound source, set the external volume control or on-screen control at two-thirds maximum.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU We take great pride in designing each of our products with the goal of providing the highest accuracy musical performance possible in the price range of that product. We strive to reprodute the musical sounds as closely as possible to those of the original performance. And we strive to avoid flashy sounds such as those associated with accentuated bass and/or treble frequencies. While those sounds may be initially attractive to the novice, they are not real and are not enduring.
