Wi-Fi lets the SoundTouch sytem stream internet content directly from the cloud, connect to AirPlay devices, and play computer music. DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE 1. Grill removal 1.1 Remove the four Phillips-head screws from the bottom baseplate. 1.3 Disconnect the flex cable from the display board and remove the grille. ! Important Note: Take ESD precautions when connecting or disconnecting the OLED display. Refer to page 5 for ESD precautions. Important Note: The display assembly must be replaced with the display assembly listed in the main part list. There are different OLEDs that need to match the display PCB.

Power Supply PCB Removal 8.1 Remove the four screws holding the power supply board to the assembly. 8.1 Disconnect connectors J200, J201, J401 and J402 to completely remove the board. 9. I/O PCB Removal 6.1 The key pad and the button board are attached by PSA (Pressure Sensitive Adhesive). When replacing the button board, pull the key pad way from the board and replace both parts.
DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE CONTINUED Woofer Removal Continued 10.2 Remove the three screws from the heatsink. 10.5 Remove the four screws securing the woofer to the acoustic assembly to remove the driver. 10.3 Before removing the woofer cover, take note of the cable locations shown above for reassembly. 10.4 Remove the three screws holding the woofer cover in place.
TOP CAP, END CAP, GRILLE AND REAR COVER INSTALLATION Aligning the Top Cap, End Cap, Grille and Rear Cover 2.3 Install the two bottom screws while applying presure inward at the bottom of the end cap. Alignment of the outer cosmetic parts on the SoundTouch™ 30 is critical during reassembly. Follow the instructions below to ensure the top cap, end cap, grille and rear cover are aligned correctly based on the measurements on pages 27 and 28 of this service manual.

AUDIO TEST PROCEDURES 2. Woofer Air Leak Test SoundTouch™ 30 WiFi Music System Functional Tests 2.1 Set the signal generator output to: A. Input Voltage = 0.570 Vrms +/- 10% B. Frequency = 44Hz +/- 5Hz Equipment Required Audio Signal Generator 2.2 Listen for air leaks around all the cabinet seams, joints, and wire harness throughholes. Notes: 1. Begin the test with no power applied. 2. Confirm the Audio Signal Generator output is set to zero volts before connecting.

TAP COMMAND SET UP CONTINUED 2.2 Select setup, then serial port to set the baud rate to 115,200 data to 8 bit, parity to none, stop to 1 bit and flow control to none. 1. WI-FI TEST PROCEDURE 1. Wi-Fi Functional Test Set Up product’s display to turn solid white. This may take up to a minute. If the indicator does not turn white, enter the TAP command again. This test uses TAP commands to connect the product to a Wi-Fi network and stream audio from a Bose URL. The Bose® SoundTouchTM application can be used in place of this test. Note: Do not download the audio file from the test URL. 3. Testing the Wi-Fi Module. 3.1 Enter the following TAP commands.

HI-POT TEST SoundTouch™ 30 WiFi Music System HI-POT test 2. Hi-Pot Test Procedure 1. Hi-Pot Test 2.1 Connect the positive side (hot) of the HiPot tester to both terminals of the AC mains input. THIS IS A MANDATORY TEST CAUTION - All units that are disassembled as part of a repair MUST be Hi-Pot tested before being returned to the customer. 2.2 Connect the return of the Hi-Pot tester to all connections on the 3.5mm audio jack, ground shell on either USB connector and all points on the Ethernet connector.
