The Bose ControlSpace ESP-00 Series II engineered sound processor is a powerful audio DSP delivering high quality signal processing and control using flexible card-slot architecture. Up to 8 cards can be inserted for support of up to 64 channels of audio. ControlSpace® Designer™ software, available as a free download from pro.Bose.
Installation and Operating Guide pro.Bose.com Available Accessories Accessory Cards The ControlSpace® ESP-00 Series II processor has eight available audio expansion slots and supports up to 64 audio channels (up to 32 analog audio channels). 8 control inputs and 8 control outputs are supplied with the ESP-00 II processor and can be doubled to 16 inputs and 16 outputs by installing an optional GPIO Expansion card into the open GPIO 2 slot.

Expansion Card Installation Detailed installation instructions for option cards can be found in each card box and also can be downloaded from pro.Bose.com. To prevent damage to the ESP-00 II processor and cards, an electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe work area is recommended during the installation of option cards. 4.

CC-16 and RS-232 connections pro.Bose.com DSP GPIO 1 DSP GPIO 1 CC-16 Connector The CC-16 connector is an RS-485 network connection for use with Bose® CC-16 zone controllers. Using the supplied Euroblock 3-pin labeled connector, up to 15 CC-16 zone controllers can be networked to control the ESP processor or any device on the Bose ControlSpace® control network. An external power supply is required.

Connect GPIO Devices DSP GPIO 1 Eight control inputs (GPI) and eight controls outputs (GPO) are available and can be used to interface the ESP processor with external control hardware. One open GPIO card slot is available for doubling the GPIO capability (16/16). General Purpose Inputs General-purpose control input ports are used to connect external hardware such as potentiometers (to control levels or gains) and switches (to invoke parameter sets).

For connecting a PC directly to the ESP processor, use the supplied crossover cable. When connecting directly into a switched network, use F/UTP Cat5e network cables. Battery Replacement The ESP-00 II processor contains a replaceable lithium battery for maintaining the real time clock (RTC) capability of the system.
