Electric Stapler Troubleshooting
1. My Bostitch® Electric Stapler is only stapling once. In order to get it to staple again, I
need to open and close the magazine. Why?
a. This is caused by the driver blade not returning all the way back up to its rest
position, which prevents the staple stick from moving forward.
b. Has the stapler been fired multiple times with no staples loaded?
i. If yes, this stapler is not meant to be fired without staples and paper.
ii. If no, please contact our customer service department at (800) 343-

2. My Bostitch® Electric Stapler is jammed. Why? Can I clear the jam?
a. Are you using genuine Bostitch® staples in your stapler?
i. If so, are you using the right model of Bostitch® staples?
1. Our models 02210, 02011 and 20SUITE-BLK take standard
staples SBS191/4CP.
2. Our model B8E-VALUE takes the unique B8® PowerCrown™
staple models STCRP21151/4 (up to 20 sheets) and
STCR21153/8 (between 20 and 45 sheets).
ii. If you are not using Bostitch® staples, it’s very possible that you have a
bad batch of a competitor’s staples. We highly recommend using one of
the Bostitch® branded staples listed above.
b. If you are using the right staples, there is a trick to clearing the jam. Unplug the
machine first. If you can see the driver down in the front, try to get a pencil and
push the driver element back up into the machine. Once the magazine is open,
remove any misformed or crumpled staples. This will clear the jam.
3. My Bostitch® electric stapler is not firing when I put the paper under the sensor. Is
there something wrong?
a. Is it plugged in to a known good electrical outlet? Test a few outlets to be sure.

4. My Bostitch® electric stapler is stapling on its own. Is there something wrong?
