SAVE. The Remote Control button command
used to store a newly created or modified
stimulation program.
SLEEP MODE. A time-out period when the
Remote Control is not being used. Also
known as idle mode.
SPINAL CORD STIMULATION (SCS). A
method of applying electrical pulses to the
spinal cord to block/mask pain signals to
the brain.
STIMULATION. When used as a therapy for
pain, an artificially applied, low-level,
pulsating electrical "shock" felt as a tingling
or pulsating sensation in the area of pain
and perceived enough to reduce the
awareness of pain.
STIMULATION COVERAGE. Area on the
body where stimulation occurs. (See Area.)
STIMULATOR. Small implantable electrical
pulse generator used to control stimulation.

SYSTEM FAILURE. Inability of spinal cord
stimulator system to deliver stimulation
therapy.
