DEVICE DESCRIPTION
This manual contains information about the DYNAGEN, INOGEN, and ORIGEN families of implantable
cardioverter debrillators (ICDs), which contains the following types of pulse generators (specic models are
listed in "Mechanical Specications" on page 27):
VR—single-chamber ICD combining ventricular tachyarrhythmia therapy with ventricular pacing and
sensing
DR—dual-chamber ICD combining ventricular tachyarrhythmia therapy with ventricular and atrial pacing
and sensing
NOTE: Specic features discussed in this manual may not apply to all models.
Therapies
These pulse generators have a small, thin, physiologic shape that minimizes pocket size and may minimize
device migration. They provide a variety of therapies, including:
Ventricular tachyarrhythmia therapy, which is used to treat rhythms associated with sudden cardiac
death (SCD) such as VT and VF
Bradycardia pacing, including adaptive rate pacing, to detect and treat bradyarrhythmias and to provide
cardiac rate support after debrillation therapy
Cardioversion/debrillation therapies include:
A range of low- and high-energy shocks using a biphasic waveform
