Using a Preamplier with Boulder Link
To use a preamplier with the 1021 Disc Player, the preamp, the disc
player, and the remote control must all have the same IR remote
address (NOT Boulder Link address). For further information regarding
the IR remote address of each Boulder product, please contact your
dealer.
The 1021 volume control should be set to “Fixed,” except in the
scenario described in the following paragraph.
There are two basic Boulder Link congurations that can be set up
between the 1021 and a preamplier, either with the 1021 set to
be a Slave and the preamplier set to Master, or vice versa. Either
conguration should work equally well, however it is preferable that
the preamplier is set to Master so that amplier power up will be
initiated by the preamplier instead of the disc player.
Connecting Boulder Link
Boulder Link cables in various lengths are available as an accessory
from your dealer. Please contact your Boulder dealer to order the
proper cable lengths and accessories.
Turn off all products that are to be linked via their Master AC Switch
before connecting any Boulder Link cables and setting Boulder Link
ID and Master/Slave switches.
Two connections are provided on the back of all Boulder Link
enabled products. All the chassis are connected together in a
“daisy chain” manner. Start by connecting one chassis to another,
then from that chassis to the next until all are connected. The order
does not matter.
A special interface may be obtained to enable Boulder Link to be
used with other control systems such as Crestron or AMX. Please
contact your Boulder dealer for further details.
