Mounting
1. Ifnecessary,usethedrillingtemplateprovidedtodrillholes.
2. Themountingscrewsizeis#3gauge.
Note:Becarefulofcableswhendrilling
Wireconnection
Note:
Powertotheunit
isprovidedfromthelistedcontrolunitorfromaseparatelyUL
listed12VDCpower‐limited,accesscontrolpowersource.DONOTsupplypower
duringinstallation.
WiringmethodsshallbeinaccordancewiththeNationalElectricalCode,
ANSI/NFPA70
Checkyourcircuitdiagramforthecolourcodingofthecircuitwiring.
Thereader
canbedamagedbeyondrepairifthewiringisconnectedincorrectly.Thiswillvoid
thewarranty.
1. Connectthe0Vwiretothepower0Vline;
Note:The0Vlineofallpowersuppliesmustbeconnectedtoacommon0V
referencepoint.
2. ConnecttheWiegand
datawires;
3. ConnecttheBuzzerandLEDwires;
4. Connect12VDCwire;
5. Placereaderonthewall(Makesurethewiresarenotcrushed.Thiswillvoidthe
warrantyofdamageoccurs)
6. Insertandhandtightenthescrews;
7. Checkthatthereaderislevelbeforetightening
thescrews;
Note:Excessivetighteningofscrewsmaydeformthecasing,resultingina
damagedunit.Thiswillvoidthewarranty.
8. Turnonthe12VDCpowertopowerupreader.
9. Allow5–10secondsforreadertofinishinitialization(dependsonthe
application).Makesurereader
isfunctioningcorrectlyaccordingtothe
applicationspecification.

Unlessspecifiedotherwise,theCompanywarrantstotheCustomerthat’BQT
SolutionsBrandedProducts’(excludingthirdpartyproductsandsoftware)are
coveredbyareturntobasewarrantyondefectsinmaterialsandworkmanship
affectingnormaluseforaperiodof5yearsfromBQTinvoicedate(‘Standard
Warranty’)
This
standardwarrantydoesnotcoverdamage,fault,failureormalfunctiondueto
externalcausesincluding;accident,misuse,problemswithelectricalpower,servicing
notauthorisedbytheCompany,usageandorstorageand/orinstallationnotin
accordancewithProductinstructions,failuretoperformrequiredpreventative
maintenance,normalwearandtear,actof
God,fire,flood,war,anyviolentorsimilar
occurrence;anyattemptbyanypersonotherthanCompanypersonnelorany
personauthorisedbytheCompanytorepairorsupporttheProductsandproblems
causedbyuseofpartsandcomponentsnotsuppliedbytheCompany.Thestandard
warrantydoesnot
coveranyitemsthatareinoneormoreofthefollowing
categories:software;externaldevices;accessoriesorpartsaddedtotheproduct
aftertheproducthasbeenshippedfromBQTSolutions.
Duringthewarranty,periodbeginningontheinvoicedate,theCompanywillrepair
orreplacefaultyproducts(atits
absolutediscretion)returnedtoits’factory.The
Customermustprepayshippingandtransportationcostsandinsuretheshipmentor
accepttheriskoflossordamageduringsuchtransportation.
TheCustomershallbesolelyresponsiblefordeterminingsuitabilityforuseandthe
Companywill,innoevent,beliablein
thisrespect.Thisstandardwarrantyisgivenin
placeofallwarranties,conditions,terms,undertakingsandobligationsimpliedby
statute,commonlaw,tradeusage,andcourseofdealingorotherwiseincluding
warrantiesorconditionsofmerchantability,fitnessforpurpose,satisfactoryquality
and/orcompliancewithdescription,allofwhich
areherebyexcludedtothefullest
extentpermittedbylaw.
