Decalcifying
lf you have hard water and you use your coffeemaker
without a water filter, it has to be decalcified regularly.
W
hen using the water filter cartridge and exchanging
it regularly, you normally will not need to decaicify.
However, if your coffeemaker takes much longer
than normal to brew, the appliance has to be
decaicified.
Im
portant: Replace the water filter by the space
compensator for any decalcifying procedure. When
decalcifying, turn the AromaSelect dial 5 to the
s
ymbol.
You can either use a commercially available
decalcifying agent which does not affect aluminium,
or vinegar essence, available in food stores.
1. Follow the instructions of the manufacturer of
the decalcifying agent.
2. Repeat this procedure with a newly prepared
decalcifying solution as many times as necessary
for reaching the original flow time of approx.
50 - 60 seconds per cup.
3. Allow the maximum amount of fresh cold water
to run through at least twice to cleanse the
machine.
lf you use vinegar essence, please proceed as
follows:
1. Fill the water container
3 to the mark for 3 cups
with cold water.
2. Add vinegar essence to the mark for 6 cups.
3. Place the carafe with the closed lid onto the
stand
9, close the filter holder 8 (without any
type of filter) and switch on the coffeemaker.
4. Allow the decalcifying solution to run through.
5. Repeat this procedure with a newly prepared
decalcifying solution as many times as necessary
for reaching the original flow time of approx.
50 - 60 seconds per cup.
6. Allow the maximum amount of fresh cold water
to run through at least twice to cleanse the
machine.
