Chapter 10 – Customizing Presentations
Networking
Check the boxes to enable/disable the following: BrightSign Network, Local Networking, Bonjour, and Simple File
Networking.
Note: If you are publishing with Local Networking and are not seeing your BrightSign players on the network, disabling
Bonjour can help.
UI
• Publishing: Check or uncheck these boxes to change the behavior of BrightAuthor while publishing:
o Show file overwrite dialog?: Displays a dialog box asking whether you want to overwrite preexisting files
when publishing a presentation.
o Copy and replace duplicate files when publishing locally?: Overwrites media files with the same name
when publishing locally.
o Show Save Schedule dialog?: When you exit the Publish tab, displays a dialog box asking if you would
like to save the schedule as a separate file. You can then use this schedule file with any presentation by
navigating to Schedule > Open while in the Publish tab.
• Save properties: Check the Show Save Properties dialog box to display a dialog box whenever you exit the
Presentation Properties window and have made changes to the settings. The dialog box will ask you whether you
want to apply the new settings to the current presentation or to all future presentations in addition to current
presentation.
• Content Update Password Cleared Warning: Check this box to display a dialog box whenever you publish a
content update that will clear the Content Update Password.
• Transitions: Use these options to specify the display behavior of transitions in the interactive playlist.
o Display Mode: Specifies how BrightAuthor draws event connections between states in the interactive
playlist area.
• Automatic: BrightAuthor will attempt to use the best display mode for the current situation.
• Always display line: Displays event lines between states.
• Always display label: Displays numbered event labels that show connections between states.
o Label Location: Displays the numbered event labels either on the Bottom or on the Right of states.
