EQUIPMENT NEEDED:
• Home iron
• Ironing board or hard surface with a insulatingtop (like a heavy towel)
• Paper towel (or light-weight cloth)
• Ruler to create equally placed reflective pieces
TEST BEFORE YOU START
Test Your Fabric – Brilliant Color Reflective Iron-on adheres at moderately low
temperatures and is safe for most but NOT ALL fabrics. Testing your fabric is
important to determine if the temperature of the iron will damage your
garment.
A. Set your iron depending on your model to:
- Medium setting
- Two dots on a three dot scale (••)
- 3 on a 1 to 6/7 scale
- Use the cooler setting ofwool/silk/rayon/blends
B. Once the iron reaches the desired temperature, test the fabric by ironing an
inconspicuous area for 1-2 minutes and checking for damage or discoloring.
C. IF YOU SEE ANY DAMAGE OR DISCOLORING DO NOT APPLY BRILLIANT
IRON-ON REFLECTIVE TO THIS GARMENT. Please exchange for Stick-on
Brilliant Color Reflective.
APPLICATION
Separate the reflective strips so you can plan where you’d like the
reflective to be placed on your garment following the recommendations
in the Biomotion Placement Guide on the bottom flap of this insert.
Lay the garment on the ironing board or flat surface and remove all wrinkles.
Place the reflective (with the colored reflective side up) on the garment in the
desired location. NOTE: Place reflective at least 1/2" (1.25 cm) away from
seams. If you must rest the iron on a seam, place a small flat pad under one
layer of fabric (e.g. a folded dish towel) to raise the reflective above the
seam. This will allow you to apply pressure directly on the reflective without
the thickness of the seam interfering with lamination.
Avoid damage during lamination, ALWAYS place a paper towel over the area
that will be ironed.
Place the iron on top of the paper towel. Be sure to cover the entire reflective
strip with iron surface while pressing down with slightly greater than normal
pressure.
Apply the heat and pressure for approximately 30-40 seconds with slow
continuous iron movement over the paper towel. NOTE: If the garment is
greater than 50% cotton, iron for 60-70 seconds to achieve a permanent
bond.
CAUTION: Do not touch the reflective material at this time, it is VERY HOT and
could burn the skin. Allow the material to cool for a few minutes before
touching.
AFTER IT COOLS remove the clear plastic covering on the reflective and
repeat steps 3-7 for the rest of the reflective until completed.
NOTE: If you ever nd an edge lifting, this can usually be xed by following
these instructions again and re-laminating that spot.

IRON-ON BRILLIANT® REFLECTIVE STRIPS
PLACEMENT GUIDE
Proper placement of each strip of Brilliant® Reflective is important in order to
maximize your visibility in low-light hours. Studies indicate that showing
biomotion, recreating the human form with motion, will give an oncoming driver
more time to react.
We’ve provided the most effective placement [below]. You can modify them based
on your own garment or gear using the following rules.
To ensure you’re creating biomotion, place reflective strips:
1. so that they are visible from all sides of your body.
2. on your head, shoulders, knees, elbows, hands/wrists and feet.

STEP 1
• Use caution when outside at night. Reflective material helps to
increase your visibility—it does not make you safe.
• Your best offense is a good defense. Be alert at all times for oncoming traffic.
• Brilliant Color Reflective material contains small parts which may
cause a choking hazard for small children.
• Brilliant Color Reflective products should not harm most fabrics but
ALWAYS test a small area inside the garment before applying to the outside.
CARE INFORMATION
• Wash the garment based on care tag instructions.
NOTE: Cold water temperature is always best.
• Hang dry or machine dry on low to medium heat settings for best results.

• Soyez prudent la nuit à l’extérieur. Les bandes réfléchissantes contribuent à
augmenter votre visibilité, mais elles n’assurent pas votre sécurité.
• La meilleure défense est l’attaque. Soyez attentif en tout temps à la circulation qui approche.
• Les bandes réfléchissantes colorées contiennent de petites pièces qui
présentent un risque d’étouffement pour les jeunes enfants.
• Les produits réfléchissants colorés Brilliant n’abîmeront pas la plupart des
tissus mais effectuez TOUJOURS un essai sur une petite partie à l’intérieur
du vêtement avant de les appliquer à l’extérieur.

EFFECTUER UN ESSAI AVANT DE COMMENCER
Testez votre tissu - Les bandes réfléchissantes colorées thermocollantes
Brilliant adhèrent à des températures modérément basses et sont sûres pour
la plupart des tissus, mais pas tous. Il est important de tester votre tissu pour
déterminer si la température du fer abîme votre vêtement.
A. Selon le modèle de votre fer, réglez-le comme suit:
- Chaleur moyenne
- Deux points (••) sur une échelle de trois points
- À 3 sur une échelle de 1 à 6-7
- Utilisez le réglage le moins chaud pour lesmélanges de laine, soie ou rayonne
B. Une fois que le fer a atteint la température désirée, testez le tissu en
repassant une zone discrète pendant 1 à 2 minutes pour vérifier qu’il n’y a
aucun dommage ni décoloration.
C. SI VOUS CONSTATEZ TOUT DOMMAGE OU DÉCOLORATION, N’APPLIQUEZ
AUCUNE BANDE RÉFLÉCHISSANTE THERMOCOLLANTE BRILLIANT SUR CE
VÊTEMENT. Veuillez échanger votre produit pour les bandes réfléchissantes
autocollantes colorées Brilliant.
APPLICATION
Séparez les bandes réfléchissantes afin de prévoir leur disposition sur
votre vêtement en suivant les recommandations du Guide de disposition
de biomotion sur le rabat inférieur de cet encart.
Posez le vêtement sur la planche à repasser ou sur une surface lisse et
éliminez tous les plis.
Placez la bande réfléchissante (côté réfléchissant coloré vers le haut)
sur le vêtement à l’endroit désiré. REMARQUE : Ne les placez pas à
moins 13 mm (1/2 po) des coutures. Si vous devez poser le fer sur une
couture, placez un petit coussin plat sous une épaisseur du tissu (par
exemple un torchon plié) pour soulever la bande réfléchissante un peu
plus que la couture. Pour pourrez ainsi exercer une pression directement
sur la bande réfléchissante sans que l’épaisseur de la couture ne nuise à
son application.
Évitez les dommages lors de l’application. Placez TOUJOURS un
essuie-tout en papier sur la zone à repasser.
Placez le fer sur le dessus de l’essuie-tout. Prenez soin de couvrir toute
la bande réfléchissante avec la surface du fer tout en appuyant un peu
plus fort que d’habitude.
Appliquez la chaleur et la pression pendant environ 30 à 40 secondes
avec un mouvement lent et continu du fer sur l’essuie-tout. REMARQUE :
Si le vêtement contient plus de 50 % de coton, repassez pendant 60 à 70
secondes pour obtenir une adhésion permanente.
MISE EN GARDE : Ne touchez pas à la bande réfléchissante à ce
moment-là, car elle est TRÈS CHAUDE et pourrait vous brûler. Laissez-la
refroidir quelques minutes avant d’y toucher.
UNE FOIS LA BANDE REFROIDIE, retirez la pellicule de plastique
transparent qui la recouvre et répétez les étapes 3 à 7 pour les autres
bandes.
REMARQUE : Si le bord d’une bande retrousse, corrigez le problème en
suivant à nouveau ces directives d’application à l’endroit requis.

GUIDE DE DISPOSITION DE
La disposition adéquate de chaque bande réfléchissante Brilliant® est importante
afin de maximiser votre visibilité dans les heures de faible luminosité. Des études
indiquent que montrer la biomotion, c’est-à-dire recréer la forme humaine à
partir du mouvement, donne à un conducteur qui approche plus de temps pour
réagir.
Nous présentons la disposition la plus efficace (ci-dessous). Vous pouvez modifier
cette disposition sur votre propre vêtement ou équipement en respectant les
règles suivantes.
Pour vous assurer de créer une biomotion, placez les bandes réfléchissantes:
1. de sorte quelles soient visibles de tous les côtés de votre corps.

Disposez les bandes réfléchissantes sur 360° pour créer une
