This attachment combined with the weight distribution, turning radius, and speed of towing vehicle can result in severe injury or death to operator, damage to towing vehicle, and/or attachment if not used properly.

ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ Step 2 4 3 15 15 15 Install Drawbar 13 Attach drawbar (4) to the tray (3) using the following as illustrated: x2 - 5/16” x 3/4” Hex Head Bolts (13) x2 - 5/16" Hex Lock Nuts (15) 13 13 x2 15 15 15 4 1 14 14 14 Attach Clevis (1) to the Drawbar (4) using the following as illustrated: x2 - 5/16” x 1” Hex Head Bolts (14) x2 - 5/16" Hex Nuts (15) x2 30 29 29 30 Attach the Transport Lock P
ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ 16 Step 3-A 16 6 Place a 5/8” Thick, Flat Washer (16) on the Axle Assembly (6). Slide the Axle (6) through the hole in the End Panel (5, right side) and add another Flat Washer Thick (16) if needed. 5 Step 3-B CAUTION: GLOVES ARE REQUIRED WHEN HANDLING AERATOR TINES. Tines have extremely sharp points. Use caution when handling.
ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ Step 3-C Position one or two washers (16 or 26) as needed to eliminate any side-to-side movement and push Axle Assembly (6) through hole in the left End Panel (5) as far as possible. 16 26 6 6 5 See layout below. 5 NOTE: Tines must not move from side to side inside opening of end panels.
ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ Step 4-B Slide the Handle Assembly (8) on the end of the Axle Assembly (6). Insert one 1/4” x 1-1/4” Hex Bolt (25) though the hole in the end of the Handle Assembly (8). Secure with 1/4” Hex Nut (26), as shown. 8 8 25 6 26 NOTE: The wheel bar mount on the axle assembly must be positioned downward, as shown, in order to properly attach the wheels.
ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ Step 5-A While wearing gloves, carefully and gently flip the Spike Aerator over. Step 5-B IMPORTANT: Attaching the wheel without all of the proper hardware will cause the wheel to wobble. Insure all hardware is used, see inset below. INSTALL FIRST WHEEL Attach a wheel (9) to the wheel bar mount on the Axle (6).
ASSEMBLY ================================================================================================ Step 5-C 9 6 9 20 19 28 28 21 20 19 21 21 21 Attach the second wheel (9) to the Handle Assembly (6) using hardware in this order: • • • • • 1/2” x 3” Hex Bolt (19) 1/2” Flat Washer (21) Wheel (9) 1/2” Flat Washer (21) 1/2” Hex Nut (20) ( Handle Assembly ) • 1/2” Hex Lock Nut (28) Step 6 Attach the Aerator to your towing vehicle using a Drawbar Pin (17) and the supplied Cotter (12).
OPERATION ================================================================================================ CAUTION: Avoid damage to tines. Engage the transport wheels when crossing concrete or asphalt driveways and walkways. TRANSIT POSITION OPERATING POSITION - Pull FORWARD on Handle Assembly (8). - Pull OUT on the Handle Assembly (releasing from Transport Position) and push Handle BACK. - Pull out slightly and position over Transport Lock Pin (24). Aerator rests on wheels.
OPERATION ================================================================================================ CAUTION: AVOID INJURY: Excessive towed load can cause loss of control on slopes. Stopping distance increases with speed and weight of the towed load. Total towed weight must not exceed combined weight of towing vehicle, ballast and operator.
MAINTENANCE / SPECIFICATIONS ================================================================================================ CAUTION: Avoid Injury! Keep body parts away from under drawbar. Do not disconnect aerator from the towing vehicle with weight on the tray. MAINTENANCE STORAGE - After the first 30 minutes of use check all fasteners for tightness. - Store Aerator in low traffic aisleways. - Tines are manufactured with galvanized steel to resist wear of abrasive soil.
