Operating Instructions

1 General Information on the Functioning

The BRITA AquaAroma Crema Water Filter Cartridge

reduces the limescale content in drinking water,

in order to protect espresso machines and coffee

machines against scale build up. This results in

a longer service life for the machine and ensures

a consistent temperature and constant pressure

during the brewing process. Moreover, heavy metal

ions in the drinking water that may have come from

domestic plumbing, such as lead and copper, are

reduced by the ﬁ lter cartridge.

In addition to cloudiness and organic impurities,

contents that can impair smell and taste, such as

chlorine residues, are greatly reduced. This dramati-

cally improves the taste of the coffee. The ﬁ lter

capacity of the AquaAroma Crema is adjusted to the

local carbonate hardness with the Aroma setting.

This means that the aroma and crema of the coffee

are optimised.

The ﬁ lter process through the AquaAroma Crema

takes place immediately before the brewing process,

meaning that freshly ﬁ ltered water is always used.

The food quality of BRITA water ﬁ lter products has

been inspected and conﬁ rmed by an independent

institute.

2 Commissioning and Changing the Interchangeable

Filter Cartridge

2.1 Setting the Aroma setting

The Aroma setting optimally adjusts the ﬁ lter capacity

of the AquaAroma Crema to the water conditions at

the location where the coffee machine is installed.
