Discharging the Battery Pack
Before you begin a full discharge, disable Hibernation.
To disable Hibernation:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Hibernate
tab.
2. Clear the Enable Hibernation check box
.
3. Select Apply.
The tablet PC must remain on while the battery pack is being
discharged. The battery pack can discharge whether or not you
are using the tablet PC, but will discharge faster while the tablet
PC is in use.
If you plan to leave the tablet PC unattended during the
discharge, save your work before beginning the discharge
procedure.
If you use the tablet PC occasionally during the discharge
procedure and have set energy-saving timeouts, expect the
following performance from your system during the
discharge process:
The monitor will not turn off automatically.
Hard drive speed will not decrease automatically while
the tablet PC is idle.
System-initiated Standby will not occur.
To fully discharge a battery pack:
1. Select the Power Meter icon on the taskbar, or access the
Power Schemes tab by selecting Start > Control Panel >
Power Options > Power Schemes tab.
2. Make a note of the 2 settings in the Plugged In column and
the 2 settings in the Running on Batteries column so that you
can reset them after the calibration.
3. Use the drop-down lists to set the 4 options (2 in each
column) to Never.
