INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by
qualied person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes
and standards, including re-related construction.
Turn OFF power and lock out service panel before installing
or wiring this control.
To prevent serious injury from electrical shock or damage to
electrical components - DO NOT WIRE HOT!
Never place a switch where it can be reached from a tub or
shower.
When cutting or drilling into a wall or ceiling DO NOT damage
electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
Warranty is void if miswired.
IMPORTANT: Make sure both the switch box and the product
to be controlled are properly grounded.
RATING SPECIFICATIONS
Two-position rocker switches are rated 15 Amps @
120VAC.
Three-position rocker switch is rated 5 Amps @ 125VAC. DO
NOT USE THIS ROCkER SWITCH FOR A HEATER ELE-
MENT!
Total load on this control must not exceed 20 Amps @
120VAC.
INSTALLATION
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCk, OR DEATH; TURN OFF
POWER AT ELECTRICAL PANEL AND TEST THAT POWER IS
OFF BEFORE WIRING!
CAUTION: Use this control only with copper or copper-clad wire.
Do not use aluminum wire with this device.
1. Install at least a 2½” deep double-gang switch box with a single
device adapter plate.
2. Remove insulation from wires on control (approximately
5/8”).
3. Connect wires (per WIRING DIAGRAM on back).
- Use proper wire nut sizes for number and size of
wires.
- For push-in wire terminals: Use only #14-AWG solid
copper wire.
- For screw terminals: #14-AWG or #12-AWG wire
may be used. Tighten screw terminals 14 to 16 in.-lbs
torque.
Make sure control’s ground wire is securely connected to power
line ground and (if applicable) metal switch box.
4. Position wires in switch box leaving room for the control.
5. Mount control using screws provided. Attach wall plate.
6. Restore power at electrical panel.
7. Switch functions may be identied by applying labels (included)
to the rockers or wallplate.
