Licensing rules
This section lists the software licensing rules and caveats related to the Brocade devices that
support software-based licensing.
General notes
The following licensing rules apply to all ServerIron ADX devices that support software licensing:
• A license is tied to the unique LID of the management module or fixed configuration switch for
which the license was ordered. Therefore, a license can be used on one particular device only.
It cannot be used on any other device. (not applicable to the ASM4)
• More than one license can be installed per device. (not applicable to the ServerIron ADX
chassis devices)
• More than one trial license can be in effect at the same time, as long as each trial license
applies to a unique licensed feature. (not applicable to the ServerIron ADX chassis devices)
