Stateless NAT64 overview

When configured as a stateless NAT64 gateway, ServerIron ADX enables IPv6-only clients to

communicate with IPv4-only resources by means of address and packet translation. In a stateless

NAT64 configuration, ServerIron ADX uses a mapping table to match IPv6 request packets sent

from the IPv6 client to an IPv4 destination address of an IPv4 resource.

Stateless NAT64 components

Figure 7 shows a ServerIron ADX NAT64 configuration in which an IPv6-only client resides in an

IPv6 network and an IPv4-only server (resource) resides in an IPv4 network. A DNS server and a

ServerIron ADX communicate with both the IPv6 and IPv4 networks.
