NOTE
Every MAC entry deletion triggers the resolution algorithm if the deleted MAC entry is installed in the
FDB. If the deleted MAC entry is installed in the MDB, only the MDB will be updated.
MAC entry movement
When the MAC entries move from the CEP to the CCEP or from the CCEP to the CEP, the MAC entry
movement happens normally on the local node and deletes all the other MDBs from the peer to
create a new local MDB.
Flooding support on VLANs
On the BigIron RX devices, the hardware flooding features such as unknown-unicast flooding,
multicast flooding, and VLAN CPU protection are not supported on the cluster VLANs.
Displaying MAC entries
You can display the following information for a cluster:
• Cluster MAC entries information
• MDUP packet information
Displaying cluster MAC entries information
To display all the cluster MAC entries, enter the following command.
BigIron RX# show mac
Total active entries from all ports = 1
Type Code-CCL:Cluster Client Local CCR:Cluster Client Remote CL:Local CR:Remote

Field Description
Total active entries from
all ports
Shows the total number of MAC entries that have been learned from all the ports.
Type Code Shows all the types of MAC entries:
• CCL: Cluster Client Local
• CCR: Cluster Client Remote
• CL: Local
• CR: Remote
MAC Address Shows the MAC address learned from the peer.
Port Shows the port number from which the MAC entry is learned.
Age Shows the age of the MAC entry.
