tcp burstrate
Sets the threshold for the burst rate of TCP traffic, and defines the lockout time once that
threshold is passed.
Synopsis tcp burstrate packet lockup seconds
no tcp burstrate
Operands packet The maximum number of packets allowed over five seconds. Range is from 1
through 100000.
lockup seconds Sets the number of seconds to lock up the port. Range is from 1 through
3000.
Defaults This feature is disabled.
Command Modes Global configuration mode
Description To protect against TCP SYN attacks, you can configure the Brocade device to drop TCP SYN packets
when excessive numbers are encountered. You can set threshold values for TCP SYN packets that
are targeted at the router itself or passing through an interface, and drop them when the
thresholds are exceeded.
This command sets the threshold for the burstrate, and defines the lockout time once that
threshold is passed.
