interface loopback

Configures a loopback interface.

Synopsis interface loopback port_number

no interface loopback port_number

Operands port_number Specifies the port number for the loopback interface. The range is 1

through 255.

Defaults None

Command Modes RBridge ID configuration mode (for VCS)

Global configuration mode (for standalone)

Description Use this command to configure a loopback interface. Loopback is a logical interface traditionally

used for stable routing operation.

Usage Guidelines Enter no interface loopback port_number to remove the specified loopback interface.

Example This example shows the steps needed to create a loopback interface with a port number of 25 for

RBridge ID 11. This example is for a VCS environment.

switch(config)# rbridge-id 11

switch(config-rbridge-id-11)# interface loopback 25
