protocol vrrp

Globally enables VRRP (and VRRP-E on some platforms).

Synopsis protocol vrrp

no protocol vrrp

Operands None

Defaults Disabled

Command Modes RBridge ID configuration mode (For a switch in standalone mode, this command is available in

global configuration mode.)

Description Enables both the VRRP and VRRP-Extended protocols on the Brocade VDX 8770, 6710, 6720, and

6730, and enables VRRP on the Brocade VDX 6740.

Usage Guidelines The no protocol vrrp command globally disables only VRRP but not VRRP-E.

Examples To enable VRRP and VRRP-E on the VDX 8770:

switch# configure

switch(config)# rbridge-id 101

switch(config-rbridge-id-101)# protocol vrrp
