Need to recover password for Brocade VDX 8770 or VDX 67xx
Use these procedures to recover access to your switch when normal access to the admin account has
been lost.
CAUTION
Because of the complexity of these procedures, we highly recommend that you contact support
for guidance, especially for recovering the root password. The recovery steps must be followed
exactly as presented below. Any variation in the procedure might cause unpredictable results.
There are several methods for recovering passwords on a Brocade Network OS switch. The correct
approach depends on the accounts to which you have access. The table below lists the procedures and
conditions under which under which you would use each procedure to recover passwords. These
procedures apply to all versions of Network OS firmware across all Network OS platforms, except
where noted.
