Community Strings tab
The Community Strings tab displays an editable list of the server’s Community Strings. To view the
SNMP Settings page, perform the following actions in the Configure tab:
1. Click System on the menu bar.
2. From the sidebar, select Device Management.
3. Click SNMP in the sidebar sub-menu to display the SNMP Settings tab.
4. Click the Community Strings button at the bottom of the window.
The Community Strings tab is displayed. See Figure 31.

The Community Strings tab displays an editable list of the server’s Community Strings, with the
following controls to a edit a selected community string or add a new community string. See
Table 10.

Controls Description
Community String The community name. A Community String acts like a password and permits access to the
SNMP protocol. Enter the community string name. The name can be up to 32 alphanumeric
characters.
Encryption Select the Enabled check box to enable encryption on the community string. Encryption is
enabled by default. Users with read-only access or who do not have access to management
functions in the CLI cannot display the strings. For users with read-write access, the strings
are encrypted in the CLI but are shown in the clear in the Web Management Interface.
