4. Click the V3 Users button at the bottom of the window.
The V3 Users tab is displayed. See Figure 33.

The SNMP V3 User tab has the following controls. See Table 12.
Perform the following functions in the V3 Users tab:
• Select a single row in the table to populate the associated editing fields with the contents of
that row.
• Select one or more rows to enable the Delete button to delete V3 Users from the table.
• Click Clear to deselect all rows and empty the edit fields in order to create a new user.
In addition to the information in the table, this tab lets you set the values in the fields described in
Table 13.

Column Content
User Name Displayed user name. Once created, it cannot be altered; it can only be deleted.
Group Group that this user is a member of.

Authentication Type How the user is authenticated. Options are MD5 and SHA. If the Encryption check
box is marked the authentication will be encrypted.
Authentication Password User authentication password. MD5 requires 8-16 characters, SHA requires 8-20,
and if encrypted, the requirement is 32 Hexadecimal characters.
Privacy Type Privacy options. Options are DES, 128-bit AES encryption for SNMP security
encryption, and SHA - 40 Hexadecimal characters when encrypted.
Privacy Password Password for the privacy option. Privacy password requires 12- 16 characters. An
AES password requires 12- 16 characters. A DES passwords requires 8- 16
characters. If you use a localized key, you can specify a maximum of 130
characters.
