When you restrict scan functions from external devices, an error message appears on the device and users cannot use those scan functions. We recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer 8/10/11 for Windows, and Safari 8.0 for Mac.

For detailed instructions on using each application, click the application's Help menu, and then click Getting Started Guide in the Help ribbon. The instructions for scanning in these steps are for Nuance™ PaperPort™ 14.

Only 300 × 300dpi can be selected when using long paper. 3. Scan Type Select from a range of scan color depths. • Auto Automatically detects whether the document uses color and generates a scanned image of it. NOTE (ADS-2700W) When [Scheduled Maintenance Alert] appears on the machine’s LCD, you must clean the machine promptly. If you do not, document jams and paper feed problems may occur. First, run your fingertip over the glass to see if you feel anything (dirt or debris). Clean the glass strips with a lint-free cloth. You may have to repeat the cleaning process three or four times. To test, scan a document after each cleaning attempt.
