Make sure that the needle passes through the hook-
and-loop fastener tape by turning the handwheel and
lower the needle into the hook-and-loop fastener
tape before sewing. And then, sew the edge of the
hook-and-loop fastener tape at a slow speed.
If the needle does not pass through the hook-and-
loop fastener tape, replace the needle with the
needleforthickfabrics(page20).

Sewing thin fabrics
Whensewingthinfabrics,thestitchingmaybecome
misaligned or the fabric may not feed correctly.
Movetheneedle(besuretouseafineneedle)tothe
furthest left or right hand position so that the fabric
does not get pulled down into the feed dog area. If
you have finished sewing, tear off any excess
paper.
