2 Remove the packing material from the machine d Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Important DO NOT connect the AC power cord yet. a b c Remove the packing tape from the outside of the machine and the film covering the scanner glass. Open the MP tray a, and remove the packing tape b from the MP tray support, then close the MP tray. e Press the front cover release button and open the front cover. Remove the silica gel pack a.
a b 3 Load paper in the paper tray c d Pull the paper tray completely out of the machine. Fan the stack of paper well to avoid paper jams and misfeeds. Put the paper in the tray and make sure: The paper is below the maximum paper mark (bbb) a. Over filling the paper tray will cause paper jams. The side to be printed on is face down. The paper guides touch the sides of the paper so it will feed correctly.
4 a b Replace the control panel cover (if needed) (for Middle East and Turkey) 6 Open the document cover. a Choose your language and attach the control panel cover to the machine. b Set your country (for Middle East, Africa and Turkey) Check that the power is turned on by plugging in the power cord and turn the power switch on. Press a or b to choose the country. Set Country a South Africa Türkiye b Others Select ab or OK Press OK when the LCD shows your country.
a b Choose your language (if needed) (not available in some countries) For Oceania, press Menu, 1, 0. For Middle East, Africa and Turkey, go to b. a b Press a or b to choose your language. Year:2012 Set the LCD contrast (if needed) If you are having difficulty reading the LCD, try changing the contrast setting. Enter & OK Key (e.g. Enter 1, 2 for 2012.) c Press Menu, 1, 6. Press c to increase the contrast. Month:03 Enter & OK Key Press d to decrease the contrast. Press OK. Press Stop/Exit.
10 Set Daylight Saving Time (for Asia and Oceania) You can set the machine to change for Daylight Saving Time. If you choose On, it will reset the time forward one hour and if you choose Off, it will reset the time backward one hour. a b Press Menu, 6, 1, 2. Press a or b to choose On or Off. Press OK. c d Press 1 or 2 to choose 1.Change or 2.Exit. Press Stop/Exit.

USB 16 Macintosh Download and install Presto! PageManager When Presto! PageManager is installed OCR capability is added to Brother ControlCenter2. You can easily scan, share and organize photos and documents using Presto! PageManager. a On the Brother Support screen, click Presto! PageManager and follow the on-screen instructions. Macintosh 13 Windows® The installation is now complete.
Wired Network Windows® For Wired Network Interface Users (Windows® XP/XP Professional x64 Edition/Windows Vista®/ Windows® 7) (not available for DCP-8110D) 14 a Before you install c Connect the network interface cable to the Ethernet port and then connect it to a free port on your hub. Make sure that your computer is ON and you are logged on with Administrator rights. Wired Network c Choose Wired Network Connection (Ethernet) and then click Next. Windows® f When the On-Line Registration screen appears, make your selection and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you have completed the registration process, click Next. Note If you want to install the PS driver (BR-Script3 printer driver), choose Custom Install and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Wired Network 17 Install MFL-Pro Suite on additional computers (if needed) If you want to use your machine with multiple computers on the network, install MFL-Pro Suite on each computer. Go to step 15 on page 14. Note Network license (Windows®) This product includes a PC license for up to 5 users. This license supports the installation of the MFL-Pro Suite including Nuance™ PaperPort™ 12SE on up to 5 PCs on the network.
