Glossary
G - 4
Station ID
The stored information that appears on
the top of faxed pages. It includes the
sender’s name and fax number.
Super Fine resolution
203 x 392 dpi. Best for very small print and
line art.
TAD (telephone answering device)
You can connect an external TAD to your
machine.
Telephone Answer Code (Fax/Tel
mode only)
When the machine answers a voice call, it
pseudo/double-rings. You can pick up at
an extension phone by pressing this code
(# 5 1, # 9 1 for New Zealand).
Temporary settings
You can select certain options for each fax
transmission and copy without changing
the default settings.
Tone (not available in New Zealand)
A form of dialling on the telephone line
used for Touch Tone telephones.
Transmission
The process of sending faxes over the
phone lines from your machine to the
receiving fax machine.
User Settings
A printed report that shows the current
settings of the machine.
XMIT Verify (Transmission
Verification Report)
A listing for each fax sent, that shows its
date, time and number.
