Mode Timer 3
The machine has four temporary mode keys
on the control panel: Fax, Scan, Copy and
Photo Capture. You can change the amount
of time the machine takes after the last Scan,
Copy or PhotoCapture operation before it
returns to Fax mode. If you choose Off, the
machine stays in the mode you used last.
a Press MENU.
b Press a or b to display
General Setup.
c Press General Setup.
d Press a or b to display Mode Timer.
e Press Mode Timer.
f Press 0 Sec, 30 Secs, 1 Min,
2 Mins, 5 Mins or Off.
g Press Stop/Exit.

Paper Size and Type 3
When you load a different size of paper in
Tray #1 or Tray #2, you will need to change
the paper size setting in the machine at the
same time.
To get the best print quality, set the machine
for the type of paper you are using.
You can use seven sizes of paper for printing
copies: Ledger, Letter, Legal, A3, A4, A5 and
4
× 6in. (10 × 15 cm) and five sizes for
printing faxes: Ledger, Letter, Legal, A3 or A4.
a Press MENU.
b Press a or b to display
General Setup.
c Press General Setup.
d Press a or b to display Tray Setting.
e Press Tray Setting.
f Press Tray#1 or Tray#2.
g Do one of the following:
 If you chose Tray#1, press d or c to
display the paper size options, and
press Letter, Legal, Ledger, A4,
A5, A3 or 4"x6".
Press the paper type:
Plain Paper, Inkjet Paper,
Brother BP71, Other Glossy
or Transparency.
 If you chose Tray#2, press
Letter, Legal, Ledger, A4 or A3.
h Press Stop/Exit.
Note
You can only use plain paper and paper
sizes Ledger, Letter, Legal, A3 or A4 in
Tray #2.
