1 Introduction 1 1 Brother Web Connect 1 Certain websites provide services that allow users to upload and view images and files on the website. Your Brother machine can scan images and upload them to these services, and also print images that are already uploaded. Introduction Conditions for using Brother Web Connect 1 1 Service account 1 In order to use Brother Web Connect, you must have an account with the desired service. If you do not already have an account, use a computer to access the website of the service and create an account. Internet connection 1 In order to use Brother Web Connect, your Brother machine must be connected to a network that has access to the Internet through either a wired or wireless connection.

Introduction Setting up Brother Web Connect 1 1 Step-by-step overview 1 Configure the settings using the following procedure: Step 1: Create an account with the desired service (see page 7). User registration Access the service’s website using a computer and create an account. (If you already have an account, there is no need to create an additional account.) Obtain account Web service Step 2: Apply for Brother Web Connect access (see page 7).
Introduction How to create an account for each of the desired services 1 1 In order to use Brother Web Connect to access an online service, you must have an account with that online service. If you do not already have an account, use a computer to access the website of the service and create an account. After creating an account, log on and use the account once with a computer before using the Brother Web Connect feature. Otherwise, you may not be able to access the service using Brother Web Connect.

Double-click the Brother Support icon. 2 Click the Brother Web Connect icon. • From your web browser Type “http://bwc.brother.com” into your web browser’s address bar. c Select the desired service. d Follow the on-screen instructions and apply for access. When finished, your temporary ID will be displayed.
Introduction How to register and delete accounts on the machine 1 1 Enter the account information and configure the machine so that it can access the service: Register an account 1 a Before you register an account, confirm that the correct time and date are set on the machine’s control panel. See the Quick Setup Guide included with your machine for instructions on setting the correct time and date. b c Swipe left or right, or press d or c to display the More screen. d Press Web.
Introduction m Do one of the following: 1 To set a PIN for the account, press Yes. (A PIN prevents unauthorized access to the account.) Enter a four-digit number and press OK. If you do not want to set a PIN, press No. n You will be asked if you want to register the account information you entered. Press Yes to register. Press No to enter the information again. Go back to step j. o Account registration is complete. Press OK. p Press .
2 Download 2 Downloading and printing images 2 2 Images that have been uploaded to the service can be downloaded directly to the machine and printed. Images that other users have uploaded for sharing can also be downloaded, as long as you have viewing privileges for those images. Certain services allow guest users to view images that are public. When accessing as a guest user, you can view images for which the owner has made public (that is, there are no viewing restrictions).
Download h Do one of the following: (For Picasa Web Albums™, Flickr® and Facebook) To download your own images from the service, press Your Album. Go to step j. 2 To download other user’s images from the service, press Other User’s Album. Go to step i. (For Google Drive™, Dropbox, Evernote®, OneDrive and Box) Go to step j. NOTE In order to download other user’s images, you must have access privileges to view the corresponding albums or images.
Download How to change print settings 2 The print settings screen is displayed after you have selected the images that you want to print: Print Quality a b c Press Print Quality. Press Normal. If you do not want to change any other settings, press OK. Paper Size a b c Choose A4, Letter, Legal, or Folio. If you do not want to change any other settings, press OK. Choose Thin, Plain Paper, or Recycled Paper. If you do not want to change any other settings, press OK. 2 Press Output Color.
3 Upload 3 Scanning and uploading documents 3 Scanned photos and images can be uploaded directly to a service without using a computer. For details about services and supported features, see Accessible services on page 1. 3 NOTE If you are a restricted user for Web Connect with the Secure Function Lock feature, you cannot upload the scanned data. For more details on Secure Function Lock: see Advanced User's Guide and Network User's Guide. a b c d Load your document.
Upload k Press OK. If you placed the document in the automatic document feed (ADF), the machine scans the document and starts uploading. If you are using the scanner glass, go to step l. l When Next page? appears, do one of the following: If there are no more pages to scan, press No. 3 The machine starts uploading the image. To scan more pages, press Yes and go to step m. m Place the next page on the scanner glass. Press OK. The machine starts scanning the page.
Upload Glass Scan Size a b c 3 Press Glass Scan Size. Choose A4 or Letter. If you do not want to change any other settings, press OK. 3 NOTE • Glass Scan Size is available when using the Scanner Glass. • Depending on your country, you may not be able to choose Letter. File Size a b c Press File Size. Choose Small, Medium, or Large. If you do not want to change additional settings, press OK. 2-sided Scan (for MFC-9340CDW) a b c 3 3 Press 2-sided Scan. Choose LongEdge, ShortEdge, or Off.
4 Shortcut Settings 4 Adding Web Connect Shortcuts 4 The settings for the following services can be included in a Web Connect Shortcut: Picasa Web Albums™ Google Drive™ Flickr® 4 Facebook Evernote® Dropbox OneDrive Box a If the displayed screen is either Home or More, swipe left or right, or press d or c to display a Shortcut screen. b Press c d Press Web. e f Swipe left or right, or press d or c to display the available services, and then press the desired service.
Shortcut Settings How to change Shortcuts 4 Web Connect Shortcuts cannot be changed. Instead, delete the Shortcut (see How to delete Shortcuts on page 18) and create a new Shortcut (see Adding Web Connect Shortcuts on page 17). How to edit Shortcut Names a 4 Press and hold the Shortcut until the dialog box appears: 4 NOTE You can also press , then All Settings, and then press Shortcut Settings. b Press Edit Shortcut Name. c To edit the name, hold down Touchscreen. Press OK.
A Troubleshooting A Error messages A As with any sophisticated office product, errors may occur. If an error occurs, your machine will display an error message. Troubleshooting Error Message Cause Action Service temporarily unavailable. Try again later. There is a problem with the service and it cannot be used now. Wait and try again. Try accessing the service from a computer to confirm whether it is available or not. Incorrect PIN code. Enter PIN correctly. The PIN registered to the machine is incorrect. The PIN is the four-digit number that was entered when registering the account to the machine. Enter the correct PIN. Incorrect or expired ID.
