Cut the appliqué pieces with a seam
allowance applied.
(Example: 4 hearts)

Make cuts 1 mm (1/16 inch) from the
stitching line.

Make more cuts in tight curves.

Place the pattern on the appliqué piece, and
then fold over the seam allowance using an
iron or press.

Mark the base fabric.

Remove the pattern, and then place the
appliqué piece on the base fabric.

Attach the appliqué piece to the base fabric
