A TECHNICAL VIEW Pitch The distance a propeller travels in one complete revolution. Low-pitch props create less forward travel with each revolution (ideal for big boats and heavy loads). In contrast, higher-pitch props produce less low-speed pulling power and more top-end speed. Rake The tilt angle of the blade’s tip toward or away from the gearcase. (Progressive Rake means that the blade is curved as well as tilted.

CarbX, an exclusive additive developed for Evinrude/Johnson, seeks out harmful carbon molecules and holds them in suspension, pulling them away from your engine’s vital components (Figure 2) before they can form deposits that cause pre-ignition and piston-scuffing hazards.
