TABLE OF CONTENTS All units feature a base rail design with forklift slots and rigging holes for easier maneuvering. Durable packaging protects all units during shipment and storage. The units can be easily converted from a vertical to a horizontal duct configuration by relocating the panels supplied with the unit. To Convert 036-120 Units from vertical to horizontal discharge, simply relocate 2 panels.
INTEGRATED ECONOMI$ERS AND OUTDOOR AIR Optional EconoMi$ers and manual outdoor-air dampers introduce outdoor air which mixes with the conditioned air, improving indoor-air quality and often reducing energy consumption. During a first stage call for cooling, if the outdoor-air temperature is below the economizer control changeover set point, the discharge-air sensor modulates the economizer outdoor-air damper open to take advantage of free cooling provided by the outside air.

OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES (cont) LOW AMBIENT CONTROLS Standard units are designed to operate in cooling at outdoor temperatures down to 25 F (for size 036-120 units) and 40 F (for size 150,180 units). With accessory Motormaster control (outdoor-fan cycling) units can operate at outdoor temperatures down to –20 F. The head pressure controls, which mount in the outdoor section, control the outdoor-fan motor to maintain correct condensing temperature.
OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES (cont) DURA-SHIELD OUTDOOR COIL OPTIONS Outdoor coil options are available to match coil construction to site conditions for the best corrosion durability. Pre-coated coils provide protections in mild coastal environments. All copper coils are best suited for moderate coastal applications, while E-coated coils provide superior protection in severe coastal and industrial applications.
OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES (cont) UNIT-MOUNTED DISCONNECT (sizes 036-120) UNIT-MOUNTED DISCONNECT (sizes 150,180) Factory-installed, internally mounted, NEC (National Electrical Code) and UL (Underwriters’ Laboratories) approved non-fused switch provides unit power shutoff with disconnect lockout protection capability. The switch is accessible from outside the unit. CONVENIENCE OUTLET Factory-installed, internally mounted and externally accessible 115-v female receptacle.

OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES (cont) FILTER HINGED PANEL OPTION (549B036-120) INDOOR-FAN HINGED PANEL OPTION (549B036-120) This is included as a factory-installed option. It permits quick and simple indoor-fan access. NOTE: Hinged access panels are not available on 548F units. This is included as a factory-installed option. It permits tool-less filter access.
CONTROLS with mechanical cooling. This is accomplished by the strategies below. NOTE: Compressor has a 2-minute Minimum On, Minimum Off, and Interstage delay timer. 1. If Y1 is energized, and the room thermostat calls for Y2 (2-stage thermostat), the compressor and OFM are energized. The EconoMi$er damper is maintained at its current position. 2. If Y1 is energized for more than 20 minutes, and Y2 is not energized (whether or not a 2-stage thermostat is used), the compressor and OFM are energized.
CONTROLS (cont) NOTE: Compressor no. 2 cannot be energized unless there is a signal for Y2 from the space thermostat. 4. If compressor no. 2 is energized, and the Y2 signal from the thermostat is satisfied, compressor no. 1 and 2 are deenergized. Reasserting Y2 will start compressor no. 1 and (after a 20-minute interstage delay) compressor 2. 5. If compressor no. 1 is energized and the thermostat is satisfied, compressor no. 1, the OFM, and IFM are deenergized and the EconoMi$er modulates closed.
CONTROLS (cont) Heating, Units Without Economizer — With unit main power on, set thermostat at HEAT position and desired room temperature. Set fan switch at AUTO. (on demand) or ON (continuous) position. On a drop in room temperature, heating contactor no. 1 in the thermostat closes, energizing heat relay (HR), reversing valve relay (RVR), reversing valve solenoids (RVS1 and RVS2) and compressor no. 2 contactor. Compressor (542J150) or compressor no. 2 (542J180) and indoor and outdoor fan motors start.
