Receive a call
When you receive a call, the phone rings, the symbol
flashes, the keypad backlight comes on and the Calls light
on the base flashes.
Call
is displayed and the or
symbol flashes to let you know if it is an external or
internal call.
1. If your handset is on the charger and auto-answer is on: pick
up the handset to answer the call.
Or
If your handset is on the charger and auto-answer is off: pick
up the handset and press to answer the call.
Or
If your handset is off the charger, press .
Earpiece volume
During a call you can adjust the volume of the
earpiece/handset receiver. There are 5 volume levels to
choose from.
1. Press to increase or to decrease the volume.

Ringer volume
While the phone is ringing, you can
use or to adjust the
ringer volume.
Caller Display
If you have subscribed to your
network’s Caller Display service, the
caller’s number (or name if stored in
the phonebook) is displayed. See
page 37 for more information.
Using the phone
Auto answer
As long as you have auto answer set
to ON you can just pick the handset
up off the charger to answer a call.
If you have switched it off, you will
need to press . If auto answer is
set to ON and you lift the handset to
answer and then press the call will
be ended.
Auto answer ON is the default setting.
See page 28 for more information on
auto-answer.
Range
The symbol on the display
indicates when you are in range of the
base. If the symbol flashes and you
hear a warning beep, you are out of
range and will need to move closer to
the base.
