Record a memo
You can record a memo message for another user of
your BT Freelance XD 510. Your memo can be up to
12 minutes (maximum recording time), but you should
try to keep it short to leave space for other messages.
1. Press twice.
2. Press . You will hear ‘Please speak after the tone.
To end recording press square’.
3. Speak your memo clearly into the handset.
While recording
r will flash in the display.
4. Press to end recording.
5. Press and hold to return to standby.
Your memo is now stored and can be played back in
the same way as incoming messages.
Call screening
When the answering machine is on and takes a call,
if the handset is off the base, the In use light will flash
and
SCREEN? will be displayed.

Using the answering machine via the handset
You cannot record a memo via
the base.
Make sure the volume on the
base is set to an audible level,
see page 37.
