4 Start-up and operation

4.1 Before operating the appliance

Before start-up, heed the following instructions for per-

sonal safety:

– Unsupervised operation of the boiler with an open door

is not permitted.

– The use of ignition accelerants in the boiler is forbid-

den.

4.2 Check operating pressure, fill up the

heating water, and bleed the heating

system

The water used for filling the heating system loses a sub-

stantial amount of volume in the first few days due to the

release of its gas content. This causes air pockets to form

and the heating water starts to make noises.

V With new heating systems, check the operating pres-

sure daily at first, topping up the heating water and

bleeding the radiators if needed.

V Later on, check the operating pressure monthly, top-

ping up heating water and bleeding the boiler and radi-

ators if needed.

DANGER: Risk of injury from open boiler

doors!

V Keep the ignition chamber door of the

boiler closed during operation.

DANGER: Risk of injury from too-high tem-

perature of the flue gas header (Æ Fig. 16,

page 19)!

V Do not touch the flue gas header during

operation.

WARNING: Damage to the system!

Start-up without a sufficient quantity of water

destroys the appliance.

V Always operate the boiler with sufficient

water.
