1 welcome • The Bugaboo Bee is not intended for children in excess of 17 kg / 37.5 lbs or 105 cm / 41.3 inches. Excessive weight may cause a hazardous unstable condition to exist. The product will become unstable if the manufacturer’s recommended load is exceeded. • Do not carry more than one child in the Bugaboo Bee.
1 welcome WARNINGS •N ever attach purses, shopping bags, diaper bags, other packages or similar items to the handlebar as they may change the balance of the Bugaboo Bee and cause a hazardous condition. • Take your child out of the Bugaboo Bee when going up or down stairs, escalators or around steep or unstable conditions. Also, take extra care when going up or down a curb or other uneven surfaces.
2 get going get going assemble your bugaboo bee Your Bugaboo Bee comes almost ready to go. All you need to do is attach the swivel wheels. It’s quick and simple. 1 Slot each swivel wheel onto the connection rod at each end of each of the Bugaboo Bee’s front legs. Make sure that the handlebar clips are closed.

The instructions below show you how to do fold the Bugaboo Bee when the seat is facing the world. 1 Apply the brake by pushing firmly down on the pedal. 2 Adjust the backrest so that it is parallel with the handlebar. 3 Press the secondary lock on the handlebar down while lifting the folding locks upwards.

2 get going fold – facing you These instructions show you how to do fold the Bugaboo Bee when the seat is facing towards you. 2 backrest adjustment lock 1 Apply the brake by pushing firmly on the pedal. Slide the secondary lock to the right while you pull the backrest adjustment lock all the way upwards. This will allow you to move the backrest all the way forward so it is in line with the handlebar. 2 3 Hold the secondary lock on the handlebar down while lifting the folding locks upwards.
2 get going brake To release the brake, push the upper part of the brake pedal downwards. To apply the brake, firmly press the lower part of the pedal downwards, but don’t force it. WARNING The brake is a parking brake only. Apply the brake whenever you park the Bugaboo Bee. o not apply the parking brake while the D Bugaboo Bee is moving. Only apply the parking brake when the Bugaboo Bee is stationary. The brake pedal must be in its lowest position to lock.

3 the beginning adjusting the backrest Whatever the age of your child, there’s a posture that’s just right for them. 1 On the back of the Bugaboo backrest is an adjustment lock. To release the backrest you’ll need to squeeze the lock while you change the position. The Bugaboo Bee has four positions, from upright to reclining, to suit your child’s mood or activity. 2 Once you have positioned the backrest, let go of the release lock to secure.
3 the beginning adjusting the harness It is essential for both comfort and safety that the harness is always a snug fit. 2 to adjust the shoulder height of the harness: The straps should attach to the backrest, level with the top of a child’s shoulders or slightly higher. 1 Pull the white harness toggles away from the backrest by pushing the clips that hold them in place at the front of the backrest. 2 Twist the toggles so they feed through the holes.

3 the beginning to adjust the shoulder and crotch straps: 1 Use the sliders. You should be able to comfortably insert two fingers under each strap. to adjust the waist straps: 1 The harness has indicators (I and II) to help you get the right tightness for your child’s size. For a smaller child, the ‘I’ setting on the waist strap will ensure a snug fit. As the child grows bigger, slide the strap along to the ‘II’ setting. Position the number in the middle of the slider.
3 the beginning adjusting the sun canopy Children are so excitable; one moment they’re up and active, the next they’re tired and irritable. The Bugaboo Bee comes with an adjustable sun canopy allowing privacy while your child has a well-deserved nap, or offering protection on sunny or windy days. 1 2 3 NOTE The sun canopy will fit the Bugaboo Bee for a child with a maximum bottom-to-head length of 51 cm/20.1 inches. 1 To adjust the sun canopy, pull at the wire frame.

The handlebar is adjustable so it’s the right height, for whoever is pushing. 1 Open the clips on both sides of the handlebar. 2 Adjust the handlebar to your preferred height by pulling up or pushing down. 3 Fasten the clips to secure in place. 1 26 BUGA_BEE_NA_Z80057_INNER.

4 the perfect fit locking the wheels Gravel or uneven surfaces can be tough to travel over with swivel wheels, especially when pushing the Bugaboo Bee with heavy shopping in the underseat basket. To help relieve this problem the Bugaboo Bee’s front wheels can be locked. Line up the swivel wheels so that the 1 2 2 kneecaps are facing forwards. Above each of the Bugaboo Bee’s front kneecaps is a white wheel lock. Squeeze each one and slide it upwards until they click.
4 the perfect fit turning the seat unit You know what makes your child happy - either facing you or watching the world go by. You can turn the seat to suit their mood. NOTE Even if the seat unit of your Bugaboo Bee is facing you to begin with (rather than facing the world as shown in the illustrations) the instructions given to turn the seat unit are the same. WARNING The seat is not intended to be used as a carry seat or for any purpose other than in conjunction with the Bugaboo Bee chassis.

4 the perfect fit 8 7 WARNING Do not remove the seat unit from the chassis while your child is in the seat unit. 7 Turn the seat unit around and slide the pins into the runners on the inside of the frame. Press the seat unit onto the frame until you hear a ‘click’ on both sides. 8 When the seat is securely in place the red indicators on the seat unit release lock will not be visible. 4 the perfect fit 9 9 Push in the arm release button and reattach each arm by inserting the end into the socket. 5 exploring exploring attaching the rain cover Come rain or shine, the Bugaboo Bee can protect a child in any setting. The snug-fitting and fully ventilated rain cover is sure to keep the child dry, warm and comfortable. 1 Fully extend the Bugaboo Bee sun canopy. 2 Place the rain cover on the head-end of the backrest. 3 Pull the rain cover over the sun canopy so that the Bugaboo label on the rain cover lines up with the Bugaboo label on the Bugaboo Bee. It should fit snugly.

5 exploring removing the underseat basket If you’re going out on an adventure, you may not want to take the underseat basket with you. to remove the underseat basket: to reattach the underseat basket: 1 Undo the touch fasteners along the sides of the net. 1 Make sure that the fabric label is positioned at the side of the footrest of the Bugaboo Bee. 2 Unhook the touch fasteners at both ends of the net. The Bugaboo Bee is now free from the net.
6 taking care taking care important information • Check the safety of the Bugaboo Bee before each use. Ensure that the seat fabric, the brake and the safety belts are all working properly, the handlebar is locked and that the seat is fitted correctly to the chassis. • Do not use the Bugaboo Bee near open flames or other sources of heat. Avoid exposing the Bugaboo Bee to extreme temperatures. • The Bugaboo Bee is not resistant to saltwater. • Check to see if the Bugaboo Bee is damaged.
6 taking care maintenance tips cleaning • Clean the Bugaboo Bee chassis and wheels with a soft towel and lukewarm water. After a few tough months on the streets the Bugaboo Bee may begin to get a bit grubby. • Use a soft brush to clean sand from the mechanisms and sliding tubes of the frame. • Use silicon spray in the mechanisms of the backrest release/adjustment and brakes to ensure that the parts remain in good working order. We’ve made the Bugaboo Bee fabric detachable and machine washable.
6 taking care removing the sun canopy to reattach the sun canopy: to remove the sun canopy: You may find it easier to remove the seat unit before removing and reattaching the sun canopy. See turning the seat unit on page 29 for instructions on how to do this. 1 Undo the eight buttons around the edge of the backrest. 2 Unhook the three sets of elastic loops found both sides of the Bugaboo Bee. 3 Pull the sun canopy, with the metal wire frame still attached, away from the Bugaboo Bee.
6 taking care removing the seat cover to remove the seat cover: 1 Remove the sun canopy (see removing the sun canopy on page 39). 2 Remove the shoulder straps of the harness (see harness on page 22). 3 Undo the seat cover from the eight buttons around the edge of the backrest and release the elastic loops from their clips underneath the seat. 4 Unhook the two sets of elastic loops on the backrest and the seat.
6 taking care storing the bugaboo bee to reattach the seat cover: 1 Slide the seat cover over the seat. 2 Pull the harness through the seat cover holes. 3 Fasten the seat cover over the eight buttons on the backrest. 4 Reattach the two sets of elastic loops to the seat and backrest. 5 Attach the sun canopy as before. Don’t store the Bugaboo Bee in direct sunlight or when it’s wet as this may discolour or damage it.
