WOOD DOOR
– CARE & FINISHING –
HANDLING & STORAGE
1. Deliver doors in a clean truck and under cover.
2. Donotdeliverorinstalldoorsuntilfoundations,concreteoorsandplasterortexturewallsarecompletelydry.
3. Allowdoorstimetoacclimatetotheconditionsatthejobsitepriortoinstallation.
4. Neversubjectdoorstoabnormalheat,drynessorhumidityforprolongedperiods,(i.e.,forcedheat)
5. Storedoorslyingatonalevelsurfaceabovethegroundinadry,well-ventilatedbuildingandkeepcovered.
Don’t stack doors on end.
6. Ifthedoorsaretobestoredonthejobsite,theentiredoorincludingtopandbottomedgesmustbesealedwith
 aclearorpigmentedbasedsealertopreventmoistureabsorption.All six sides of the door must be properly sealed
for warranty to apply.
7. Tokeepdoorsprotected,usecleanglovesandequipment.Coverdoors,butallowforaircirculation.
 Carry,donotdragdoorsoveranysurface.
Important Note:
Panels of stile and rail doors are engineered to oat so they can move with changes in climate without causing stress. Make sure these
components are aligned before nishing. You can correct alignment by carefully moving the panel with a wood block, rubber mallet
and a soft touch. Components that have shifted and must be aligned are not considered “defects” according to the warranty.
MANEJO Y ALMACENAMIENTO
1. Entregue las puertas en un camión limpio y bajo cubierta.
2. No entregue ni instale las puertas hasta que los cimientos, los pisos de concreto y los muros con yeso o pasta de textura estén totalmente secos.
3. Dé tiempo a que las puertas se adapten a las condiciones climáticas del lugar, antes de instalarlas.
4. Nunca someta mucho tiempo las puertas a calor, sequedad o humedad anormales (p. ej., calor forzado)
5. Almacene las puertas tendidas sobre una supercie plana por encima del suelo, dentro de un recinto seco y bien ventilado, y manténgalas cubiertas.
No apile las puertas en forma vertical.
6. Si se requiere almacenar las puertas en el lugar de trabajo, se debe sellar toda la puerta, incluso los bordes superior e inferior, con un sellador transparente o a base de pigmento, para evitar
la absorción de humedad. Se deben sellar correctamente los seis lados de la puerta para que la garantía siga siendo válida.
7. Para mantener protegidas las puertas, use guantes y equipo limpios. Cubra las puertas, pero permita la circulación del aire. Cargue las puertas en vez de arrastrarlas sobre
cualquier supercie.
Nota importante:
Las puertas de montante y travesaño están diseñadas para que sus elementos “floten” entre sí, de modo que pueden desplazarse con los cambios de clima sin causar esfuerzo
mecánico. Cerciórese de que estos componentes estén alineados antes de aplicar el acabado. Puede corregir la alineación moviendo cuidadosamente el panel con un bloque de
madera, un mazo de goma y un toque suave. El desplazamiento de componentes y la necesidad de realinearlos no se considera un “defecto” conforme a la garantía.
FITTING & HANGING
1. Whenhangingadoor,allowadequateclearanceforswellingofdoorandframeinextremelydampweather.
2. Usedesignatedsizestoavoidcuttingdoorwidth.Fortrimmingends,werecommendasharp,ne-toothsaw.
3. Becarefulnottoimpairstructuralstrengthofdoorwhenttinghardwareorspecialfeatures.Topreventdistortion,
 sethingesinstraightline.Usethreehingesondoors7'orless;fourhingesondoorsover7'high.Jambsandstops
 mustbesquareandplumb.
4. Protectoutwardswingingdoorsthatareexposedtotheelements.(Anadequateoverhangisstrongly  
 recommendedforexteriordoors.Ageneralruleofthumbforanoverhangistomeasureheightfromporchto
 overhanganddividethedistanceinhalf.Thatmeasurementwouldbeaminimumoverhangwidthrecommended.)
5. Immediatelyafterttingorcutting,andpriortoweather-strippingandhanginganydoor,givetheentiresurface
 (includingalledges)twocoatsofpaint,varnishoraqualitysealertopreventmoistureabsorption.
6. Tominimizeheatlossandreduceenergycosts,useanygoodweatherstriponexteriordoors.
7. Damageincurredduetoextremetemperaturebuild-upwhenastormdoorisusedisnotconsideredadefect.
