Switching the mobile telephone system off
It is important to switch off the telephone function, the privacy
handset and any other mobile phones in all areas where there may
be a risk of explosion, such as filling stations, fuel and chemical
storage facilities or transport vehicles and other places where
fumes, chemicals (e.g. from leaking propane, fuel vapours in
vehicles or buildings) or large quantities of dust particles (e.g. from
flour, wood or metal) could accumulate in the air. Remember that
these areas may not always be adequately marked.
To switch off the vehicle’s telephone system, proceed as follows:
1. End any active telephone call.
2. Switch off the ignition.
3. Remove the remote control key from the ignition, or if using
the keyless access system, press the Engine Start/Stop button
to the second stage. The mobile telephone system will switch
off if there is no active telephone call. Switch off the mobile
telephone.
Or, if using the SIM reader or a mobile telephone connected
via rSAP:
1. Press the CAR control button.
2. Press the Setup system function button.
3. Press the Telephone function button.
4. Select the Settings menu, followed by Switch off
telephone.
5. Select Yes and confirm your selection. The mobile telephone
system will enter ‘pause’ mode. Do not remove the remote
control key from the ignition, or if using the keyless access
system, do not press the Engine Start/Stop button to the
second stage. Do not remove the mobile telephone from the
vehicle, as it may attempt to connect to the mobile telephone
network once it leaves the Bluetooth range of the vehicle.
To remove the mobile telephone system from ‘pause’ mode,
use the thumbwheel to select the menu Switch on in the
main telephone menu, or press the TEL control button and
confirm the action when prompted.
Note
When the mobile telephone system is switched off, only the connection
between the mobile telephone system and the mobile telephone network
is deactivated. The Bluetooth connection between the mobile telephone
and the mobile telephone system will remain active, as long as the
mobile telephone remains within the range of the vehicle (approximately
10 metres, or 33 feet), and the remote control key remains in the
ignition, or if using the keyless access system, the Engine Start/Stop
button is not pressed to the second stage. The mobile telephone system
will switch off automatically after approximately 15 minutes, if the
remote control key is left in the ignition or the Engine Start/Stop
button is not pressed to the second stage.
