8 Music Player
Connected mobile telephones which support the A2DP profile can be selected via Blue-tooth
®
for music
playback.
Various data carriers with a USB or AUX connection can be connected for music playback on the hands-free
system using an optionally available "Genuine Touch Phone-Kit Music audio cable".
If a device is connected which permits playback the symbol will be displayed at the top edge of the
screen.
Note
If the function Mobile telephone audio is active, all audio playback will only be in mono 9.3 Audio.
The quality of the music playback ids dependent on the connected devices and the quality of the data
files being played back.
Control via the hands-free system is possible depending on the connected mobile telephone or the
data carrier connected to the USB socket.
Audio sources connected via the AUX socket cannot be controlled via the hands-free system.
The number of audio files which can be read and processed from a USB stick is limited to 1000 files.
The number may also be higher, depending on the software status.
8.1 Bluetooth Audio via mobile telephone
if a Bluetooth audio capable mobile telephone is coupled, the music playback can be started via the
hands-free system.
8.2 AUX and USB connection

An external playback device can be connected to the hands-free system via the AUX socket and a
connecting cable. Audio files played back on the external playback device can be played via the vehicle
loudspeakers. Control and title display via are not possible.
Various data carriers with music files (e.g. USB sticks, MP3 player) can be connected to the USB
connection and controlled. An iPod
®
can be connected using the relevant cable. Title display and control
are possible via the hands-free system, depending on the device.
8.3 Opening music player and controlling playback
To start the playback via the hands-free system press the button
Music Fig. 1/2 or say the voice
command Music
.
If an audio source is already being played the Music Player will be directly opened. Otherwise the desired
audio source must first be selected from the list.
If iPod
®
is selected as the audio source a sub-menu will be opened with further possible selections (play
list, Artiste, Album, Title etc.).
The following functions can be used on the Music Player:
Skip forwards
Skip backwards
/ Pause / Play
Start voice control
Open a list of the audio sources from which playback is possible and select by pressing
Press briefly for individual steps and keep pressed to switch directly to the main menu
A fast search can be started by a pre-selected letter for some data carriers (e.g. USB sticks). If and
also
ABC are displayed in the arrow key for changing pages in a list view, keep one of these buttons
pressed until "Fast search" is activated. After selecting a list a first letter can be pre-selected and then
further letters can be entered. Only those letter combinations are able to be selected which match the
stored entries. Press the button OK to display these entries.
