Use and Care of Amazonas Laminated
Chairs and Stands
Byer of Maine is pleased to oer this line of attractive and durable products from a small family
owned producer in southern Poland. ese items are produced from northern European spruce, laminated
using a proven outdoor adhesive system, and nished with a water repellant penetrating nish. Here at
Byer, we have several years of good experience with the performance of the products from this producer.
At the time of initial assembly and after a month of initial use, all fasteners should be snugly tight-
ened. is check should also be done seasonally or if there is any sign of frame exing or movement.
Depending on the local climate and exposure, the factory nish should be ne for one season. If the
products are exposed to repeated sun and rain cycles, it is normal to see some surface checking (small,
shallow cracks) in the wood surface. If this checking appears, the wood is telling you it would like some
additional protection. Our recommendation is to apply a clear penetrating wood nish.
In our experience, ompson’s Waterseal Clear Waterproong Wood Protector is an excellent choice.
is product is widely available at home centers, hardware stores and mass merchants. It should be applied
and maintained according to the manufacturer’s directions. It is easily applied and quite durable. We have a
good deal of experience with the application and pleased to hear from you if you would like help or reassur-
ance.
For the Globo and related chair products, the cushions are self draining polyester ber ll inside
a synthetic fabric. e cushion covers are Agora solution dyed acrylic that is fade and mildew resistant.
ough suitable for outdoor use, the chairs and their cushions should air dried and never stored inside
when wet or damp. We strongly recommend our weather cover accessory for maximum durability. e
Agora covered cushions should always be dry before the weather cover is applied.
Cushions and covers can be hose cleaned with mild detergent, then thoroughly rinsed and naturally
dried (machine wash or dry is not recommended).
All Byer of Maine hammock and chair products from Amazonas are carefully designed for family
leisure use. None of our products are swings and should not be subjected to continuous or violent move-
ment. Children should use only with close adult supervision.
Properly monitored and cared for, these products will provide many years of joyous service.
