1. When required, install adapter plate CEN Part No. A9-490 at remote location as indicated by bus
manufacturer.
2. Before installing regulator, make sure setpoint switch on back of regulator is set for appropriate battery
type. See Table 1 and Figure 1. Then install regulator on adapter plate.
3. Connect extended wiring harness between regulator and alternator. Make sure harness plugs are securely
connected to regulator and alternator sockets.
4. When connecting orange REG/IGN wire and red NO-CHARGE wire from vehicle harness into mating 2-pin
connector, crimp and solder the connections and make sure pins are secured tightly in connector body.
5. Connect green wire to regulator IGN terminal and white wire to regulator D+ terminal.
6, Using cable ties every 12-14 inches, securely support wiring harness between alternator and regulator.
