Search Manager
General Operational Considerations
Item Description
1 Three new colums have been added to specify Category, Interface, and Active
Number. These colums are hidden by default so users do not see a wider search
screen when they bring up the Search Manager interface.
2 A new predefined search criteria (MAC address with Port Information) has been
added to differentiate from the other MAC Address and MAC Address Range Search.
Known Anomalies: Search Manager
Item Description Solution
1 All saved searches are cleared and lost
when you complete the actions in the
order below:
- Save and add searches to the
Predefined list,
- Choose Clear User Preferences or Clear
Group Preferences under the Options
menu.
- Launch Search Manage.
Avoid using Clear User Preferences or
Clear Group Preferences.
Aprisma is investigating a solution to this
issue.
2 On Solaris, the Search Manager: Search
Editor window does not move to the front
when opened from the Search Manager:
Main window’s Edit menu; it is hidden
behind other open windows.
Also:
After displaying the results of a search
defined by Search Editor, the Editor
screen reappears unsolicited if the cursor
is placed over the Editor icon in the
toolbar. (Toolbar tips must be enabled
for this to occur.) Precisely as the toolbar
tip for Editor disappears, the Editor
screen rises to the foreground.
This is a behavioral issue with the Solaris
Common Desktop Environment (CDE).
To correct this, deselect the following
option in the Style Manager-Window
pop-up dialog: Raise Window When
Made Active.
