Did either “0” or “OK” display?

Call Cabletron Technical Support.
Program the modem. Depending on the modem used, the commands to program the modem parameters may be
different. Table 8-2 lists the modem parameters and the associated commands according to two of the more widely
used modems, Hayes AT and US Robotics. For programming information about other modems, refer to the
associated documentation.
Write the commands to the modem NVRAM. This is usually done using the AT&W command. (Refer to your
modem documentation for further instructions.)
Stop the Telnet session by pressing CTRL -]
.
In the Admin Mode, set the port back to CLI Mode.
Example:
port 16
set port mode cli
reset 16
Try dialing in again.
Was the dial-in successful?

Call Cabletron Technical Support.
Congratulations, the problem is solved.
With the CSMIM2 in the Admin Mode, enter the commands (example is for port 16):
port 16
show port
The port parameters are displayed. In this example, it is the port 16 parameters.
Check for the following:
- Autobaud is set to N.
- Port speed is set as high as possible. The highest port speed is dependent on the modem (refer to the modem manual for
the maximum speed) and the CSMIM software revision. For MicroCS, MODMIM, and CSMIM2 with rev. 8.1.1, the
maximum speed is 57600 bps; with rev. 9.0 or greater, the maximum speed is 115200 bps. The CSMIM maximum speed
is hardware set to 38400 bps and the CSMIM-T1 maximum speed is 115200.
It is recommended that you set the CSMIM2 to its maximum port speed and then set the modem speed accordingly. Set the
DTE line of the modem so that it runs at a fixed rate.
