ospf set monitor-auth-method
Purpose
You can query the OSPF state using the OSPF-Monitor utility. This utility sends non-
standard OSPF packets that generate a text response from OSPF. By default these
requests are not authenticated. If you specify an authentication key, the incoming
requests must match the specified authentication key.

Parameters
authentication-method none|simple|md5
Specifies the authentication method used within the
area. Specify one of the following:
none
– Does not use authentication.
simple
– Uses a simple string (password) up to
16 characters in length for authentication. If you
chose this authentication method, then you should
also specify a key-chain identifier using the key-
chain option.
md5
– Uses the MD5 algorithm to create a
crypto-checksum of an OSPF packet and an
authentication key of up to 16 characters.
