Table 5-19. Initialize Drive Parameters
The Initialize Drive Parameters command in Table 5-19 causes the drive to set BSY, enter the Idle
(Read) mode, clear BSY and generate an interrupt. This command enables the host to set the
number of sectors per track and the number of heads per cylinder. Only the Sector Count and the
Drive/Drive/Head registers are used by this command. This command is obsolete in ATA5 but is
supported for backwards compatibility.
