Seats and Mirrors HEATED FRONT SEATS This feature 2 allows you to heat the front 1 seatbacks and seat cushions simultaneously or just the seatbacks. Three heat settings are available. The controls are located on the driver and front passenger door panels. Select a heat setting for both the seatback and seat cushion • Press and release the horizontal button (“1” above) until the indicator light shows the desired setting.
E S C A ADJUSTABLE PEDALS The buttons used to adjust the pedals are located on the driver’s side door panel. • Press the button closest to you to move the pedals closer to your body. • Press the button farthest from you to move the pedals away from your body. The vehicle must be in Park (P) for this feature to operate. POWER FOLDING MIRRORS Fold mirrors • Move this selector switch (“1” right) located above the 1 3 mirror control to the center position.
Turn the outside temperature displays and compass readings on or off • Press button “1” above right. Display temperature • Press this button (“1” above right ) and hold for four seconds to toggle between °C and °F. Once the desired °C or °F is displayed, release the button. Wait four seconds and the temperature will be displayed. Automatic Climate Controls DUAL-ZONE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM 1 3 5 4 2 EXT’s Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control System features dual zone operation for the front passengers.
E S C A L A D E E X T Entertainment/Convenience Features AM/FM STEREO WITH CD AND CASSETTE PLAYER 1 2 Set the time • Press and hold the HR button (“1” above) until the correct hour appears on the display. • Press and hold the MN button (“2” above) until the correct minute appears on the display. Note: The time may be set with the ignition on or off. Program radio station presets • Turn the radio on. • Press BAND to select the band (AM, FM1/FM2/XM1/XM2).
• To exit Quick Load, press either a number with a CD in it or LOAD. Quick Unload: • Press EJECT ( ) for two seconds; all CDs will eject from highest number to lowest. Load 1 CD • Press LOAD; all available numbers will flash amber. • Select the number desired. • Wait for amber lights to flash on sides of slot before inserting CD. • Repeat to load more CDs. Unload 1 CD • Press EJECT. • Press number for CD desired.
E S C A 3. Simultaneously press and hold both the desired button on HomeLink and the handheld transmitter button. Do not release the buttons until Step 4 has been completed. 4. The indicator light will flash slowly at first and then rapidly after HomeLink successfully receives the frequency signal from the hand-held transmitter. Release both buttons. 5. Press and hold the newly trained HomeLink button and observe the indicator light.
There are two ways to increase speed while cruising: • Use the accelerator pedal to get to a higher speed. Press at the end of the multifunction lever to set the cruising speed. Release the accelerator pedal. • Press the resume/accelerate switch (+) to get to a higher speed, and then release the switch. To reduce speed while cruising: • Press and hold at the end of the multifunction lever until you reach the desired lower speed, and then release it.
E S C A Disable URPA • Press the URPA on/off button (see previous page) located near the climate control system and radio. In some circumstances, such as trailering, the system can be disabled. TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR This feature alerts you when a large change in pressure occurs in one of your vehicle’s tires. If this occurs, a CHECK TIRE PRESSURE message will appear in the instrument panel cluster. This message will remain on until you reset the system.

Tire Pressures Press until TIRE PRESSURES appears on the display. This mode shows the tire pressure in pounds per square inch (psi) or kilopascals (kPa). Press to scroll through the following information: • LF TIRE shows the tire pressure of the left front tire. • RF TIRE shows the tire pressure for the right front tire. • LR TIRE shows the tire pressure for the left rear tire. • RR TIRE shows the tire pressure for the right rear tire. Timer The DIC can be used as a timer.
E S C A L A D E E X T Utility Enhancement System MIDGATETM COMPONENTS CARGO AREA MIDGATE PANEL Your vehicle is equipped with a Midgate Panel and removable rear window. The Midgate allows you to substantially extend the length of the vehicle’s cargo area. 1 2 3 MIDGATE OPERATION 4 Remove and store rear window Fold rear seats down. • Squeeze and pull down latch levers (“1” below) at each upper corner of rear window to release window.
• While pressing window flat into storage pocket, turn lock knobs clockwise until arrows align with “lock” symbols. (You may have to push the corner of the window slightly to allow the knob to fully lock.) Return rear-window latch levers to closed position until hearing a “click.” With window securely stored, return seat to normal position. Press down on seat cushion and forward on the seatback to ensure it is locked. Reinstall the rear window Squeeze and pull down on rearwindow latch levers.
E S 1 C A 2 L A D E Raise the Midgate Raise Midgate with a firm swinging motion to engage latches and secure Midgate in its normal position. If rear window has been stored, it can be returned to its normal position by following “Reinstall the rear window” instructions. CARGO COVER SYSTEM With Rear Window Stored • Stand outside vehicle and, with one hand against crossbar, support the Midgate (“1” above). • With other hand, turn Midgate handle (“2” above) clockwise to release it.
