Damage Due to Contaminated or Poor
Quality Fuel
Poor fuel quality or incorrect fuel may cause
driveability problems such as hesitation, lack of
power, stall or no start. It may also render gauges
inoperable or degrade functionality for components
such as spark plugs, oxygen sensors and the
catalytic converter. Damage from poor fuel quality,
water contamination, incorrect diesel fuel or
gasoline may not be covered.
It is recommended that gasoline meet
specifications which were developed by automobile
manufacturers around the world and contained
in the World-Wide Fuel Charter which is available
from the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers
at www.autoalliance.org/fuel_charter.htm. Gasoline
meeting these specifications could provide
improved driveability and emission control system
performance compared to other gasoline.
