The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter is used to lock and unlock the doors from up to 60 m (195 ft) away from the vehicle. Q: Press to lock all doors. Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 1-6 Black plate (6,1) In Brief Liftgate Power Liftgate Operation Windows Manual Liftgate Operation For vehicles without keyless access, unlock the vehicle before opening the liftgate. Press the touchpad located in the handle of the liftgate, above the license plate, and lift up to open. Do not press the touchpad while closing the liftgate. This will cause the liftgate to be unlatched. On vehicles with a power liftgate the switch is located on the driver door.

Try to move the seat back and forth to be sure it is locked in place. To raise or recline the seatback, use the lever on the outboard side of the seat. The dome lamp controls are located in the overhead console. There are reading lamps located on the overhead console and over the rear passenger doors. These lamps come on automatically when any door is opened.

It shows the status of many vehicle systems. The controls for the DIC are located on the turn signal lever. B. w x: Use the thumbwheel to scroll through the items in each menu. C. MENU: Press to get to the Trip/Fuel Menu and the Vehicle Information Menu. This button is also used to return to or exit the last screen displayed on the DIC.

The display will appear on either the inside rearview mirror or navigation screen, if equipped. To clean the camera lens, located above the license plate, rinse it with water and wipe it with a soft cloth. See Rear Vision Camera (RVC) on page 9‑43.

The system is on when the vehicle is started. This vehicle may have a Tire Pressure Monitor System (TPMS). . . Service involving location information about the vehicle can’t work unless GPS signals are available, unobstructed, and compatible with the OnStar hardware.

They could operate the power windows or other controls or even make the vehicle move.

Contact Roadside Service if you are locked out of the vehicle. See Roadside Service (U.S. and Canada) on page 13‑8 or Roadside Service (Mexico) on page 13‑11. To remove the key, press the button near the bottom of the transmitter, and pull the key out. Never pull the key out without pressing the button.

Keep in mind that other conditions, such as those previously stated, can impact the performance of the transmitter. Q (Lock): Press to lock all doors.

The exterior lamps flash and the horn chirps. Press and hold L for three seconds to sound the panic alarm. The horn sounds and the turn signal lamps flash for 30 seconds, or until L is pressed again or the vehicle is started. With the transmitter within 1 m (3 ft), approach the front door and pull the handle.

Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 2-6 Black plate (6,1) Keys, Doors and Windows Lock Sensor Keyless Liftgate Opening Press the touch pad on the liftgate handle to open the liftgate if the keyless entry transmitter is within range. Programming Transmitters to the Vehicle When all doors are closed and the ignition is off, the vehicle can be locked by pressing this area on the door handle. This feature will be available for several minutes after the vehicle has been turned off.

When the transmitter is learned the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter. 5. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press K on the transmitter. To program additional transmitters, repeat Steps 3 through 5. 3. Place the new transmitter into the transmitter pocket.

When the transmitter is learned the DIC display will show that it is ready to program the next transmitter. 2. Wait for ten minutes until the DIC displays PRESS ENGINE START BUTTON TO LEARN and then press the ignition. 6. Remove the transmitter from the transmitter pocket and press K on the transmitter. The DIC displays will again show REMOTE LEARN PENDING, PLEASE WAIT. 3.

Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 Black plate (9,1) Keys, Doors and Windows Starting the Vehicle with a Low Transmitter Battery If the transmitter battery is weak, the DIC may display NO REMOTE DETECTED when you try to start the vehicle. The REPLACE BATTERY IN REMOTE KEY message may also be displayed at this time. To start the vehicle: 1. Open the center console storage area and the storage tray. 3. With the vehicle in P (Park) or N (Neutral), press the brake pedal and the START button.

Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 2-10 Black plate (10,1) Keys, Doors and Windows Remote Vehicle Start If available, this feature allows you to start the engine from outside the vehicle. / (Remote Vehicle Start): This button will be on the RKE transmitter if the vehicle has remote start. Vehicles with an automatic climate control system will automatically change to a heating or cooling mode depending on the outside temperature during a remote start.

Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 Black plate (11,1) Keys, Doors and Windows Extending Engine Run Time For a 10-minute extension, repeat Steps 1 and 2 while the engine is still running. The remote start can only be extended once. When the remote start is extended, the second 10-minute period will start immediately. For example, if the vehicle has been running for five minutes, and 10 minutes are added, the engine will run for a total of 15 minutes.

A child can be overcome by extreme heat and can suffer permanent injuries or even death from heat stroke. Always lock the vehicle whenever leaving it. . Outsiders can easily enter through an unlocked door when slowing or stopping the vehicle. Lock the doors to help prevent this from happening.

Cadillac SRX Owner Manual - 2011 Black plate (13,1) Keys, Doors and Windows Lockout Deterrent Delayed Locking Lockout deterrent decreases the chances that the keys may be accidentally locked in the vehicle. When this feature is enabled and the doors are locked with the power lock switch on the instrument panel, three chimes sound to signal that the delayed locking feature is in use. All doors lock five seconds after the last door is closed.
