Media Browser enhancements
New features in SONAR 8.5
• Play . Play the selected file.
• Stop . Stop playing the selected file.
• Auto Play . When enabled, you can simply click a file to play the file.
• Views . Lets you change how you view items in a folder. Content can be displayed as
Large Icons, Small Icons, List, Details or Folders.
• Content Location preset list. Lets you select a saved Content Location preset.
• Delete Content Location preset. Lets you delete the selected Content Location preset.
• Save Content Location preset. Lets you save the current folder as a Content Location preset.
• Preview Bus. Lets you specify the bus to use when auditioning audio files. The selected
preview bus is saved with the project.
• Insert Synth . Insert a new soft synth, which can be used to audition MIDI files.
• Delete Synth . Delete the selected soft synth.
• Open Synth Properties Page . Open the user interface for the selected soft synth.

Auditioning loops during playback
You can audition loops during playback and when the transport is idle.
If you audition a loop during playback, the loop jumps to the current Now time and remains
synchronized with SONAR’s transport until you stop playback. After you stop playback, the loop
restarts.
Auditioning audio files
You can audition regular audio files, Groove Clips, ACIDized files and REX files.
Note: Playback stops if you change the directory or close the Media Browser view.
